I began my writing career as a writer of traditional Regencies. I love the lightheartedness, the emphasis on the development of characters and relationships, as well as the clothes and manners of the time. I also enjoy building sexual tension without blunt description, leaving much to the readers' imaginations and allowing readers to remember their own developing love affairs.

Three of my first Regencies - The Imprudent Wager, Sussex Summer, and Highland Rivalry - were recently released in ebook form by Belgrave House when the rights reverted to me. Visit Belgrave House Regency Reads to order your copies. I am presently working on regaining the rights back to other Regencies I wrote earlier in my career, and will update this page if I am able to re-release those. Update: I was able to regain rights to another Regency I wrote early in my career, First Season, and it is now available at Belgrave House.

After a hiatus from writing romances, I returned to my first love! Second Wind Publishing has just released my historical romance Double Masquerade, set in the late 1700's, and a new Regency, Poets and Promises, was released by Ellora's Cave last fall and is available as an ebook.

Double Masquerade: Catherine Trevor has reached her thirtieth year without marrying. Although she has been content with her single state, a visit from her brother, his peevish wife and ill-mannered children causes her to realize that when her brother succeeds to the viscountcy she will be dependent upon him. Rather than face that possibility, Catherine determines to persuade a visiting marquess to make an offer despite the disapproval of her father and aunt, who had long hoped she would make a match with their near neighbor. Catherine succeeds in capturing the interest of the visiting marquess and is soon betrothed - but no sooner has she achieved her goal than she wonders if she has made a terrible mistake. Bound by her word to honor the betrothal, Catherine must use her wits to find a way out before her wedding day.

Poets and Promises: Have you ever thought about the incredible confluence of incredible literary talent in London during the Regency years? At few times in history have as many persons of literary genius congregated in one place! Miss Elisabeth Ashwood, a young woman of studious character, is plunged into the eccentric world of the London literati after she agrees to a betrothal with Lord Sherbourne, the son of a family friend who is recently returned from India. After an unfortunate beginning to their renewed acquaintance, Sherbourne tries to gain favour with his betrothed by introducing her to Leigh Hunt, the acknowledged leader of the literary set. But the morally ambiguous literary set - which includes Mary and Percy Shelley - is not considered an acceptable milieu for a young woman of good family, and a clash is inevitable. Elisabeth's betrothal and her good character both hang in the balance as she strives to determine what course to take and what sacrifices are worth making.
